I'm a sucker for creative projects that really have no point, and this is one of the best that I have seen in a while.

Here's the idea. Amazon has something called a mechanical turk. The idea behind Amazon's mechanical turk is that you can have people do work for you. For example let's say you want want someone to review your website, find some information for you, or in this case draw a left facing sheep. Aaron Koblin paid $.02 per sheep, and collected 10,000 of them. You can read more about the project here.

Overall, I am pretty impressed with this project. Although there is very little point to it, it is somewhat fascinating. I'm amazed by two things, concerning the drawing of the sheep. 1. I think it's interesting that they all have the same general characteristics. A fluffy body, legs, and a sheep shaped head. 2. How poorly drawn they actually are. I realize that they were drawn with a flash applet, but come on people. I wonder if he would have paid more if he would have gotten better sheep?
